1 year ago PublicWe at EarthCare firmly believe in the four pillars it is built.
Empowering the local community is one of the main pillars of EarthCare.
Born & brought up at Poochackal, we have a strong bonding and commitment towards our village which prompts us to work towards a better living for the entire community.
Education for the children in our village is getting tough these days due to the Covid situations, lockdowns and restrictions. They are unable to go to regular school and deprived of all the social elements which supports their mental health. Their parents are struggling with irregular or no income. Most of them had to invest on smart phones to continue learning which is expensive for them.
Empowering the children with education is the best way to have a bright future for them as well as for the village.
We, at EarthCare have decided to support the village children with a new and novel venture.
EarthCare has launched a Book Bank - "Grama Book Bank" to support our village gems. The book bank will provide them with Notebooks and pencils. To begin with, we will support each child with One note book & One pencil. The book bank will
- Work from Grama Center, which is easily accessible.
- Note Books & Pencils will be kept outside the Grama center.
- Anyone can walk in and pick One Note book & One pencil per child.
- The book bank will be operational throughout the year
We make this project happen with the profits we make from selling our Chemical free, natural Home & Personal care productsWe thank our customers, family members, relatives & friends who regularly support us in our vision of a "better living" for our village community.

GRAMA is a project initiated by ‘Earthcare’, a locally-run enterprise that works to support the village community through initiatives in crafts, nature products and responsible businesses.
Grama means “village” in Sanskrit and the word is synonymous with all the products we sell. All our products are crafted in villages. We work with different groups, organizations, individuals, and women Self Help Groups (SHGs) to create sustainable products and communities.
We work with different Co-ops/ Organizations/ Individuals/ Women SHGs to create sustainable products and communities.
Giving life to a fifty year old weavers co op for producing quality 100% Cotton handloom towels, Supporting a Women SHG with contract for manufacture of Herbal Handcrafted soaps, Supporting local artisans by marketing their products and creating own environment friendly products are all part of our activities.
Four pillars we believe in
1. Produce and sell environment-friendly products to make the earth a better place to live in
A change should start from home.
All our products are made from naturally available raw materials and are completely safe to use and completely bio degradable. We use recycled paper for packaging and encourage recycling or buy back of other packaging materials
We truly believe that our little efforts will contribute towards a major cause.2. Support economic growth of villages by finding a market for village crafted products and small businesses
While being committed to produce and sell sustainable products, we are also focused to provide opportunities and thereby improve the living conditions of our villagers. We support the craftsmen/ artisans with raw materials, finance, sales platform, and trainings.
Upon using GRAMA village crafted products, you are putting your share in empowering the village and the communities/ businesses we support.3. Reduce inequalities in the society and empower women through community give back policy by creating sustainable livelihoods
We believe in the power of women to transform a homestead or a community. Women are pillars of a family and empowering them individually or through SHGs will directly contribute to a sustainable lifestyle in the villages. Our community giveback policy supports women entrepreneurs and employees and their families.4. Provide safe working conditions, pay fair wages, and create awareness of better living
Our business principles are based on fair trade principles. Human and environmental considerations are our prime concerns. We provide our employees/ partners with better living standards, pay fair wages and prices and always strive to have safe working conditions -

1 year ago PublicAwareness event on Handcrafted foods
When we talk about food we mostly talk about healthy food or Tasty food. How about talking both at one-time?
Keeping this in mind Nutreat has organised an awareness event at Vyannjan Food Stalls, Hyderabad.
The purpose of the event was to create "how tasty and healthy the foods are when we handcraft them and at the same time communicating a great experience on our traditions to the audience"
The event was hosted by our Creative associate Lakshmi Prasanna and super energetic RJ- Hasya (Volunteer) as anchor.
Contest rules- Participants can make any recipe out of Nutreat handcrafted Ragi flour (Distributed for a week) while their kids enjoying the handcrafting at the same place. All visitors are allowed to try stone grinders and to taste the recipes by contestants.
There were totally 15 participants and almost 20 delicious recipes that pushed the judges into trouble. Finally there were 4 recipes that won thumbs up from all the judges and visitors by end of the day.
It was fun and healthy.
The motto of the event was well delivered" that handcrafted foods are always crowned when compared to machine made with just a simple tap and people accept the original goodness when created awareness"
The event was well flourished with the great support of Miss.Deepthi (Vyannjan) while RJ- Hasya stole the event.
Last but not least we found a Gem in the name of Prasanna who carried the event single handedly yet in times of uncertainty.
Special thanks to Team Unekha for being a event-partner of our "Fun way to create Awareness on Handcrafted foods"

1 year ago PublicThis is what this Women on Wings community platform is all about: connecting social enterprises so they can learn, get inspired and share best practices. We are extremely pleased to see our partners AVANI from Uttarakhand and ACTION CENTER FOR TRANSFORMATION (ACT) from Haryana, come together in Haryana for a workshop on natural coloring conducted by Avani's Delhi team.
Avani is known for e.g. handmade knits and weaves, and its organic dyes and ACT for its home and lifestyle products made from recycled paper waste. Both social enterprises focus on creating livelihoods for women in rural areas and it is a pleasure to work with both on the realization of their goals.
A wonderful example of cocreation! -

1 year ago PublicDoing our best to create a "Zero Waste Food Production" kitchen.
Recently we have our analysis on "The food materials that we are wasting" after procurement from the farmer. As said it not even 1% wastage from our traditional kitchen that does into the garbage.
No surprise it is "Zero".
In year 2019-2020, there was few situation where we have to throw our Dry nuts & Seeds which was almost 3% of our procurement. However a strategy and a stubborn decision of procuring low quantities at higher price from the farmer gave us Zero wastage by the year 2022.
Although need some good reach to support more the farmers and create more employment in the rural areas our simple and steady strategies are working incredible in achieving the universal goal SDG-12.
Soon we will make your jaws drop by procuring more from the farmer but Zero wastage industrial kitchens are possible with our unique strategies.

Knitting Huts Private Limited posted
1 year ago PublicHello Everyone,
We are Knitting Huts!
We are a For Profit Social Enterprise working with rural women of Himachal Pradesh to develop premium hand-knitted products for humans and their homes.
We take orders for our international clients as well to produce under their labels using yarns like Pure Cotton, Organic Cotton, Pure Silk, Cashmere, Yak, Angora, Mohair, Merino and Sheep Wools.
Our products are listed on etsy.com at the moment and our website is under the works.
We are a fairly new organization in social enterprise arena and have had great experiences in the short span of time working with talented rural populations of the region. We truly believe that the art of hand-knitting is still under utilized when it comes to upliftment of handicrafts industry as a whole. We see a lot of weaving work, bamboo work, wood carving, embroidery and block printing but hand-knitting, for some reason, lags far behind.
We are working towards streamlining the hand-knitting industry and making premium hand-knits cool again!

Such childhood days developed the curiosity about our traditions & made me to thrive for more & more on lost traditions of this world leading the journey of #handcrafting Nutreat and it was my #Dad who sowed the seed of traditional India & its heritage for a radiant life.
The day we were at HITEX (Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Limited) many such kids pounding with curiosity after seeing the #stonegrinder reminded myself at age 10
