Indigenous India has got several indigenous recipes that cares humans in every stage and for every requirement. One among them is Katlu which is a traditional Gujarathi recipe by origin but has importance all over the country.
Katlu is made of few ayurvedic ingredients along with wheat & lots of ghee which enhances the milk production post delivery and also helps in back & bone health.
Here is the guide to make a perfect Katlu:
1 kilogram jaggery, grated
1+1/4 kilograms ghee/clarified butter
1 kilogram whole wheat flour, coarsely ground (Preferably Stone grounded)
2 shells of dry coconut/suka copra ni kachli
100 grams suva dana/dried dill seeds
250 grams edible gum granules/gond/kani walo deshi gunder
250 grams almonds, roughly chopped/sliced
100 grams Katlu powder/ batrisu powder
100 grams peepramul powder/ganthoda powder
100 grams dried ginger powder/sooth
100 grams poppy seeds/khus khus
1 nutmeg, freshly grated
In a deep bottomed pan slow roast wheat for about 30mins or till it is dark brown in colour. Now add all the ingredients finely powdered. Add the ghee and mix well. You can store this for 45days in preferable conditions.
katlu can be mixd along wit milk and have twice a day while lactating.
For Bone Strength: Mix 1 tbs in hot milk and have it everyday in the morning.

"Colour the Bag" contest by Nutreat Bangalore Outlet.
When words can't art can. Art is a great form to teach anything or to express everything. Here we took the help of art to teach our kids "Be Local" for sustainable living.
The contest was held at Nutreat Bangalore Outlet hosted by Mrs.Pushpalatha Reddy with the concept "Ancient art of India" and delivering the message that the kids should be enlighten with our rich traditions & knowledge.

Though the film is not much about the art of cooking there was a secondary message to all men/ women who consider Cooking or Kitchen is only meant for ladies.
Have you ever licked your fingers after having the tremendous Kerala Puttu with fish curry cooked in coconut milk? Does your cravings hike when you smell the aroma of Sunday Biryani? Did you resist yourself for second serving of Andhra mutton curry? Yes ! right, but have you ever ponder about the laborious work behind all these wonderful senses and appreciate your dear lady?
If not may be you should watch this movie, just to understand the hunch of Indian house wives.

We, at EarthCare have decided to support the village children with a new and novel venture.
EarthCare has launched a Book Bank - "Grama Book Bank" to support our village gems. The book bank will provide them with Notebooks and pencils. To begin with, we will support each child with One note book & One pencil.
The book bank will
- Work from Grama Center, which is easily accessible.
- Note Books & Pencils will be kept outside the Grama center.
- Anyone can walk in and pick One Note book & One pencil per child.

GRAMA is a project initiated by ‘Earthcare’, a locally-run enterprise that works to support the village community through initiatives in crafts, nature products and responsible businesses.
Grama means “village” in Sanskrit and the word is synonymous with all the products we sell. All our products are crafted in villages. We work with different groups, organizations, individuals, and women Self Help Groups (SHGs) to create sustainable products and communities.

Giving life to a fifty year old weavers co op for producing quality 100% Cotton handloom towels, Supporting a Women SHG with contract for manufacture of Herbal Handcrafted soaps, Supporting local artisans by marketing their products and creating own environment friendly products are all part of our activities.

All our products are made from naturally available raw materials and are completely safe to use and completely bio degradable. We use recycled paper for packaging and encourage recycling or buy back of other packaging materials

While being committed to produce and sell sustainable products, we are also focused to provide opportunities and thereby improve the living conditions of our villagers. We support the craftsmen/ artisans with raw materials, finance, sales platform, and trainings.

3. Reduce inequalities in the society and empower women through community give back policy by creating sustainable livelihoods
We believe in the power of women to transform a homestead or a community. Our community giveback policy supports women entrepreneurs and employees and their families.
4. Provide safe working conditions, pay fair wages, and create awareness of better living
Our business principles are based on fair trade principles. Human and environmental considerations are our prime concerns. We provide our employees/ partners with better living standards, pay fair wages and prices and always strive to have safe working conditions
Its a super launch
Glad to announce that we have already launched our Super recipe which is 100% plant based and designed by a holistic nutritionist Dr.Sushma Gumma who curated the recipe for us with all her practical research.
The recipe was curated with raw banana flour and organically grown spices from Kerala. The special about the recipe is raw banana flour is sourced from Vyanjanam an incubation supported by Jagriti Enterprise Centre-Purvanchal.
All together it is a super collaboration of Nutreat with a nutritionist, and an incubation.
The launch took place at Anu My Baby by Shri.Ramesh Gajula who supported unconditionally for this super collab.
The recipe is designed for boosting up your metabolism naturally which also aids in boosting your immunity, skin and hair care by maintaining the gut health.

Awareness event on Handcrafted foods
When we talk about food we mostly talk about healthy food or Tasty food. How about talking both at one-time?
Keeping this in mind Nutreat has organised an awareness event at Vyannjan Food Stalls, Hyderabad.
The purpose of the event was to create "how tasty and healthy the foods are when we handcraft them and at the same time communicating a great experience on our traditions to the audience"
The event was hosted by our Creative associate Lakshmi Prasanna and super energetic RJ- Hasya (Volunteer) as anchor.
Contest rules- Participants can make any recipe out of Nutreat handcrafted Ragi flour (Distributed for a week) while their kids enjoying the handcrafting at the same place. All visitors are allowed to try stone grinders and to taste the recipes by contestants.
There were totally 15 participants and almost 20 delicious recipes that pushed the judges into trouble. Finally there were 4 recipes that won thumbs up from all the judges and visitors by end of the day.
It was fun and healthy.
The motto of the event was well delivered" that handcrafted foods are always crowned when compared to machine made with just a simple tap and people accept the original goodness when created awareness"
The event was well flourished with the great support of Miss.Deepthi (Vyannjan) while RJ- Hasya stole the event.
Last but not least we found a Gem in the name of Prasanna who carried the event single handedly yet in times of uncertainty.
